What type of therapy do you utilize?

I use CBT, EMDR, humanistic, and traditional talk therapy approaches depending on each client’s needs, goals, and situation. My style is flexible, collaborative, and grounded in creating a genuine therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable being themselves.

Is telehealth as effective as in-person therapy?

Yes — there are peer-reviewed studies and systematic reviews showing that telehealth therapy (especially video-based telemental health) is similarly effective to traditional in-person therapy for many common mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and PTSD (Lin et al. (2022)*. It ultimately comes down to your personal preference.

What can I expect during the first session?

Our first session focuses on getting to know you as you define yourself in this moment. We’ll discuss your presenting concerns and explore important moments in your life to better understand your journey.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Therapy is confidential, with a few legal and ethical exceptions (such as risk of harm to self or others, abuse, or court orders). These limits are reviewed clearly during the first session.

What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?

That’s completely okay. Therapy is a collaborative process, and part of the first few sessions is figuring out whether this feels like a good fit for you. I can also schedule a free consultation with you if you'd like to see if we might be a good fit.
